Tallington Level Crossing

Monday June 11 2018 at 16.42. Time for a change from one carriage Lincolnshire trains. The 13.00 Edinburgh to London (17.40), the 16.00 London to Aberdeen (23.10) and the 12.52 Liverpool to Norwich (18.13) trains. This crossing was poorly filmed from the other side in 2012 when trains were silver, I was using a lumbering van and video wasn’t HD. Back then outline plans for a bridge over the tracks here had just been announced but no progress has been made since. Tallington LC is sometimes held up as an example of how bad things can be for local residents. Actually it isn’t a particularly busy crossing with 6,800 vehicles using it daily. More than 20 level crossings in the UK get over double that. As can be seen in the video, the queue after the barriers had been down for 6.5 minutes for 3 trains was only 20 cars. 2 minutes 20 seconds of the wait here was cut
