Nella Veleria dell’Arsenale di La Spezia vengono cucite e preparate le vele, nella falegnameria si restaurano arredi e carabottini, nelle officine si interviene su attrezzature marinaresche, mentre fregi e polena tornano lentamente a brillare grazie a mani esperte. Un lavoro costante, rigoroso, spesso lontano dai riflettori, portato avanti con passione dagli uomini e dalle donne della Marina Militare e da professionisti specializzati, per garantire alla Nave efficienza, sicurezza e bellezza. Un percorso che non è ancora terminato e che continuerà nei prossimi mesi, fino a quando tutto sarà nuovamente pronto per restituire al mare la sua Regina. ____________ 🇬🇧 The Amerigo Vespucci is a heritage of values and beauty, kept alive by a quiet, unwavering commitment. While the eyes of the world await the moment it will once again sail the seas, the Amerigo Vespucci continues an essential programme of work, carried out with care, precision and expertise. In the sail loft of the La Spezia Naval Arsenal the sails are stitched and prepared, in the carpentry workshop furniture and wooden fittings are restored, in the workshops the Ship’s nautical equipment is serviced and maintained, while the figurehead and decorative gilding slowly return to their former splendour thanks to skilled hands. It is constant, rigorous work, often far from the spotlight, carried out with passion by the men and women of the Italian Navy and by specialised professionals, to ensure the Ship’s efficiency, safety and beauty.
