Dynasty Warriors 2 - The Battle at Hu Lao Gate | Zhao Yun Musou Mode 2

Hu Lao Gate is the same for every force, aside from starting position. As Shu, we'll be starting on a path between the eastern bypass and the center. This means we'll have to advance on Si Shui Gate from the front this time, however we can assist our allies faster now. Except Cao Cao, who will be on that bypass for a while. But he can take care of himself, especially when we take Si Shui Gate. Once it's taken, any officers in front of it lose morale. Since we're approaching it from the front this time, we also see a cutscene of archers atop the wall firing down on us. They aren't too much of a threat though. And once we defeat Hua Xiong, we can go up top and slaughter them, if you so desire. There's also a save point up there. Oh yeah, I never mentioned saving in this game. In this game there are mid-battle saves in the form of items, hidden in boxes throughout the map. If you don't know where the save boxes are, well tough luck, you don't save. So break every box you find for the chance to get them. Saving can save you a lot of time if you lose and on top of that you get a full heal and full musou if you save. It you pick up the item but choose to NOT save, you do not get healed at all and just waste the item. So there's literally no reason to not save when you find one. Another thing that happens in this stage. As it goes more in your favor, Yuan Shao will order his sub officers to move up and support the army's attack in Hu Lao Gate. After he does so and moves up, Dong Zhuo will order ambush troops to attack him. You might think this is no big deal because it's just troops, but Dong Zhuo will have high morale up until you get past Hu Lao Gate so his troops are STRONG. They target Yuan Shao and can actually defeat him if you either don't defeat Dong Zhuo in time or double back to defeat the troops. Lu Bu is just as hard as the last time I fought him. I had Wen Chou to help me this time, but unfortunately one of the times Lu Bu got knocked down it triggered his Atk x2 buff, so Wen Chou was destroyed about 3 seconds later. Still managed to beat him with the help from some other allies.
