A Color a Day: Crisp Magenta - #DD44CC rgb(221, 68, 204) - 2026-10-01 — Color Screensaver

A color a day will… (take all your worries away?) Maybe not. 😅 Yet this will fill your screen with #DD44CC color for 12 hours in up to 8K resolution. “A Color a Day” is a personal project: a random color, uploaded every single day, for the next 11 years. These 4,096 colors are taken from the 12-bit color depth palette. Why not the full 24-bit True Color standard? (1) That’s 16,777,216 colors — one color a day would take almost 46,000 years to complete that palette. 🤯 I’m not sure if there will still be YouTube by then. 😅 (2) The 24-bit palette also has more color depth than the human eye can even recognize. Well, unless mantis shrimp will be watching these videos… 🦐😂 By comparison, the 12-bit palette with 4,096 colors completes in “just” a little over 11 years. Now that’s livable. (And it fits in a single YouTube playlist.) Started September 16, 2024, hello December 3, 2035! Now, what do you think tomorrow’s shade will be? 🙄 ****************************** Today's color details: Thursday, October 1, 2026 12-bit: #d4c 24-bit equivalence: #DD44CC rgb(221, 68, 204) Human color name: Crisp Magenta — a midtone, rich magenta.
