Wing Commander Angus MacIntyre, who has left the RAF after 40 years, joins Nigel Farage in London as Reform UK's Shadow Armed Forces Minister. He sets out how far Britain's forces have shrunk, and Reform's plan: 3% of national income on defence by 2030 and 3.5% by 2035, an overhaul of procurement, an end to prosecutions of veterans within 100 days, the Territorial Army name restored, cadets for every school and veterans first for housing. Farage explains why he thinks the country's priorities are back to front and why people with real experience should run departments. MacIntyre joined the Army straight from school at 18, served with the 17th/21st Lancers and the Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders, then spent 27 years in the RAF Regiment, with tours in Northern Ireland, Afghanistan, Iraq, Sierra Leone, Liberia and Somalia, and staff jobs at the Ministry of Defence, the Pentagon and NATO in Brussels. From Reform UK's press conference on 5 November 2026.
