A few centuries ago, Hapton was a deer park. The quarries on the hills abive the town are now famous for being the place where the clay for the Accrington Nori Brick came from (Bricks used to build the Empire State Building, amongst many others).
Tom and I head out on a general hike on the hottest day of the year so far to see what we can find in the area today.... surprisingly, there was a lot to cram in to a 20 minute video!
Historic Rifle Ranges
Mining and very deep Hameldon Quarry
Ruins
Woodlands
Abandoned House
and plenty more ......
So join us on our hike across the hills. We had quite a laugh along the way too 😄
