Day 3 of my 10-day solo truck camper road trip from Austin, Texas to Sedona, Arizona takes me deeper into the incredible landscapes of northern Arizona. Today I'm exploring Petrified Forest National Park and Walnut Canyon National Monument while continuing my journey toward Sedona in my Ford F-150 Raptor with a Caribou truck camper. Petrified Forest completely surprised me. The ancient petrified wood, desert landscapes, viewpoints and wide-open Arizona scenery make this one of the most unusual National Parks I've visited. Then it's on to Walnut Canyon National Monument, where the landscape changes dramatically. The canyon, forest, trails and historic cliff dwellings make this a completely different experience from Petrified Forest—even though both can fit beautifully into an Arizona road-trip itinerary. This trip isn't just about getting from Austin to Sedona. For me, solo travel is about slowing down, hiking, exploring the outdoors and finding some quiet space to reconnect with myself.
