Can One Week Of Training Prepare You For A Brazilian Favela Fight? | Fight Club

Join martial arts guru Chris Crudelli for Fight Club, the action-packed, adrenaline-pumping adventure where he pushes his mind and body to the limit. In this episode, Chris travels to Salvador, Brazil, to learn Capoeira, the deceptive dance-like martial art born from the struggles of African slaves on Brazilian plantations. With just one week to train, he immerses himself in the explosive kicks, takedowns, and rhythmic footwork of Capoeira under the guidance of Master Bomba, before stepping barefisted into a full-contact fight against local champion Fantasma. Along the way, Chris explores the spiritual side of Brazilian culture, taking part in a Candomblé ceremony intended to call on a spirit guide for strength, visiting a folk healer for his training injuries, and pushing through a trapped nerve and burnt-out legs in the days before the biggest fight of his life.
