In this episode, retired U.S. Army veteran Tom Spooner discusses his 21 years in the 82nd Airborne, 7th Special Forces Group, and Delta Force, and how he was an alcoholic who still crushed it in the 82nd. He explains how a sponsor, a notebook, and a very different idea of God helped him get sober. He also covers the Gulf War, going through Delta selection right around 9/11, and the 2006 mortar strike that left him with an undiagnosed brain injury, along with the moral injury that came with it. The conversation also explores Iran, whether the Iraq War was worth it, and the work Spooner is doing now as co-founder and president of Warriors Heart. ---------- Support Tom Spooner https://www.warriorsheart.com/ https://frontlinehealingfoundation.org/   / thomas-spooner-b988072b     / warriorshearthealing   Tom Spooner https://www.instagram.com/1factfinder... https://x.com/1factfinder?lang=en   / tom.spooner.3     / thomas-spooner-b988072b   ---------- HELIX Get 120-night sleep trial at https://helixsleep.com/mikedrop MARS MEN For a limited time, our listeners get 50% off FOR LIFE, Free Shipping, AND 3 Free Gifts at Mars Men at https://mengotomars.com/ AG1 Visit https://drinkag1.com/mikedrop to get a free Morning Person Hat and free AG1 Flavor Sampler in your Welcome Kit with your first AG1 subscription (an $82 value!).
