Silver Lake via Monte Cristo and Poodle Dog Pass | Washington Hiking

Silver Lake via Monte Cristo and Poodle Dog Pass, completed July 19, 2024. Another excellent hike along the Mountain Loop Highway. About half of this hike is along a flat gravel road that used to be used to get to the Monte Cristo mining town, which was a really cool stop that I'm glad I got the chance to visit. Be sure to pause at all the sign segments to read about the history of the town. The trail up to Poodle Dog Pass had all of the elevation gain in only a couple miles, so it was a bit more difficult than expected.
