Replacing your Honda Africa Twin or Transalp carburetor diaphragms doesn't have to be expensive! Over time, the rubber diaphragms inside the carburetors can develop cracks or small holes, causing poor throttle response, hesitation, and loss of power. Unfortunately, the original complete slide assemblies are no longer readily available from Honda. And many aftermarket solutions are either expensive or require glue. But there's a much cheaper alternative! In this video, I'll show you how to replace the carburetor diaphragms for around €10 each, without using any glue, while keeping the original mounting method. I've personally used this solution on my Honda Transalp for approximately 80,000 km without any issues. Now I'm doing the same on my Honda Africa Twin XRV650 RD03! *In this video:* How to identify a damaged carburetor diaphragm Why damaged diaphragms affect throttle response How to remove the original diaphragm How to install a replacement without glue My trick for getting the rubber properly seated My experience after 80,000 km of riding The replacement diaphragms are advertised as ethanol-resistant, although the quality and compatibility of aftermarket parts can vary. Hopefully, this video helps keep a few more old Hondas on the road!
