It's also about breaking down musical genre boundaries, being truly free with our imagination, and discovering new possibilities with our instruments. This piece was completely improvised and was inspired by our little foray into Somali music and music around the world. This tune opens with an ominous bass line with jazz-inflected drums, topped off with Indo-Malay and Brazilian percussion rhythms. Followed by an ethereal violin melody line. Musicians: Huich Goh – violin ‪@huichgoh‬ Mick Honegger – percussion Rana Mitra - surdo, cajon, pandeiro Henry Smithers – bass Paul Whitwood – drums ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- About Sahul Sakti Sahul Sakti is an improvisation ensemble who transports listeners around the world, across sonic worlds, and across creative boundaries.
