Intermodal Train With 2 DPUs & Waiting For 2 CSX Trains To Pass, 8 Degree Frozen CSX & NS Trains!

Frozen Trains! Intermodal Train With Double DPU Locomotives Earning Their Keep. CSX Trains Pass & I Got Both Trains. Railroad Crossing In Front Of Historic Building And Trains Passing In 8 Degree Temps. Trains Zip Around Super Elevated Curve At Railroad Crossing. Trains In Richwood And Walton, Kentucky. I woke up and it was 6 degrees below zero. By the time I got to Kentucky it had warmed up to 8 degrees above zero. It was pretty cold! This video shows CSX trains and Norfolk Southern trains that I got on the CSX LCL ( Short Line ) and the Norfolk Southern Rat Hole Line. On my way to Walton, Kentucky I heard a train running southbound on the NS Rat Hole line so I pulled over in Richwood just a few miles north of Walton and got a big intermodal train with 2 DPU locomotives in the middle. The train was going slower than normal due to a slow order in this area. After that I went to downtown Walton and got a fast train with a DPU crossing Church Street behind the police station. I also got a high rail truck here. After that it was a long wait for the next train. We also see a train that my daughter in law filmed for me at Brooks Malott Road in Mt Orab, Ohio was I was filming these trains. It was just an eastbound power move but it was still pretty cool. You can see the conductors van in the video. He was doing a run by inspection of the train at the crossing. Some of the crossings have been having issues lately with the cold weather. Then we see a train at Locust Street at the tight curve with a super elevated track. That looks pretty cool when trains come around that curve. I got a CSX northbound train in town at Main Street and I heard the dispatcher tell the crew that they would have to wait at Nichols for a southbound train to pass. Nichols is just a few miles to the north so I waited for the train. It took a couple of hours for the CSX southbound to cross Main Street but it was worth it. This was one of the coldest days that I have ever filmed on. I usually like to walk around a lot when waiting for trains but that was pretty difficult on this day.
