PUNYO TANA RECEIVED WITH WARM WELCOME AFTER HISTORIC MT. SHINKUN WEST SUMMIT Apatani mountaineer Punyo Tana, who recently created history by becoming the first Apatani and the first Arunachali to summit Mt. Shinkun West at 6,127 metres, received a warm welcome and felicitation at Naharlagun Railway Station on his return. The All Punyo Welfare Society, along with family members and well-wishers, organised a reception and felicitation ceremony to honour Tana for his remarkable mountaineering achievement. The reception celebrated his accomplishment as a proud moment for the Apatani community and Arunachal Pradesh, while recognising his feat as an inspiration for aspiring mountaineers from the state.
