Monday, 11th May 2026. Bluebird K7 Returns to its spiritual home of Coniston Water in the Lake District afloat for the first time in nearly 60 years after a painstaking recovery & rebuild. Bluebird K7 is a jet engined hydroplane in which Britain's Donald Campbell set seven world water speed records between 1955 and 1967. On 4th January 1967 whilst making his bid for his eighth speed record at Coniston, a target of 300 MPH, he tragically died on his return run heading North across the lake at an estimated speed of roughly 325 - 330 MPH.
