Fans React to the 2026 Bahrain Grand Prix in Malaysia

The 2026 Bahrain Grand Prix was postponed earlier in the year, but as a result, we ended up returning to the Sepang International Circuit in Malaysia for the first time since 2017 (my personal favorite F1 track). Due to Bahrain paying for and running the entire Grand Prix at Sepang, the race earned the unique title of the 2026 Bahrain Grand Prix in Malaysia. Max Verstappen & Red Bull took control of the weekend from the off, with the Dutchman claiming his first pole position of the year, with teammate Isack Hadjar qualifying third fastest, split by the Ferrari of Lewis Hamilton. The race got off to a chaotic start, or lack thereof, as cars experienced power losses on the formation lap, leading to a further delayed start on top of the one accounting for the weather. Verstappen lost the lead at the start but clawed his way back to first place in the early stages, passing both Mercedes cars. The Red Bull driver went on to claim his, the team's, and their engine's first win of 2026, followed by Kimi Antonelli, who extended his championship lead, and Lewis Hamilton, who recovered from a classic Ferrari strategy call to charge back to 3rd place. Lando Norris finished down in 9th behind Fernando Alonso, who claimed his and Aston Martin's best result of the year. George Russell's car gave out with a handful of laps to go, meaning Kimi Antonelli is looking overwhelmingly likely to become the youngest world champion in history. ------------------------------------------------------------------- Q2 - Bortoleto Beats Lawson to Q3 0:00 Q3 - Verstappen Sets Provisional Pole 2:29 Q3 - Antonelli Lap 6:33 Q3 - Verstappen Takes Pole 7:20 Formation Lap - Hadjar Goes Off Track 12:24 Formation Lap - Verstappen Power Loss 13:20 Formation Lap - Hamilton Power Loss 14:03 Formation Lap - Hamilton Recovers Car 17:17 Formation Lap - Starting Procedure Suspended 17:49 Lap 1 - Red Flag Restart Tyre Choices 19:36 Lap 1 - Gasly Goes Off Track 21:25 Lap 2 - Piastri Pits 22:44 Lap 3 - Race Start 23:37 Lap 3 - Leclerc Pits 26:11 Lap 6 - Verstappen Overtakes Russell 26:40 Lap 6 - Hadjar Overtakes Lawson 27:35 Lap 9 - Bottas DNF 27:59 Lap 9 - Safety Car Deployed 28:43 Lap 11 - Bottas DNF Replay 30:36 Lap 11 - Piastri Nearly Hits Albon Replay 30:49 Lap 13 - Safety Car Restart 31:13 Lap 19 - Hamilton Overtakes Piastri 33:10 Lap 20 - Hamilton Overtakes Lindblad 34:06 Lap 21 - Hamilton Overtakes Ocon 34:31 Lap 21 - Antonelli Overtakes Russell 34:56 Lap 21 - Bortoleto Ten Second Penalty 35:39 Lap 30 - Piastri Overtakes Lawson 37:28 Lap 40 - Alonso Overtakes Lindblad 38:17 Lap 43 - Albon DNF 39:30 Lap 43 - VSC Deployed 39:43 Lap 43 - Verstappen Pits 40:23 Lap 44 - Hamilton Pits 41:30 Lap 44 - Antonelli Pits 42:25 Lap 45 - Hadjar Pits 43:02 Lap 46 - Safety Car Deployed 43:59 Lap 50 - Russell DNF 44:55 Lap 50 - Norris Goes Off Track 45:42 Lap 50 - Norris Goes Off Track Replay 47:33 Lap 52 - Safety Car Restart 48:32 Lap 53 - Hamilton Overtakes Hadjar 49:41 Lap 54 - Leclerc Overtakes Hadjar 50:26 Lap 55 - Verstappen Wins 51:04 Lap 55 - Norris Dives Alonso 51:48 ------------------------------------------------------------------- Follow all the people in this video: Ponden:   / ponden      / @ponden     / pondenn   OnlyVic:   / onlyvic      / @onlyvic     / onlyvic   LukeSam:   / lukesam      / @f1lukesam     / f1lukesam   Inphratic:   / inphratic      / @inphratic     / inphratic   alexxcantdrive :   / alexxcantdrive      / @alexxcantdrive     / alexxcantdrive_   Meraki:   / meraki      / @merakif1     / merakijl   BigTmac:   / bigtmac_      / @bigtmac_     / bigtmac   P1 with Matt & Tommy:   / mattp1tommy      / @mattp1tommy     / mattp1tommy   ------------------------------------------------------------------- Let's get to 50K together!
