Atlanta Hawks Save the WNBA Finals? Atlanta Dream Get State Farm Arena

The Atlanta Dream are headed to the WNBA Finals, but their championship run nearly came with a major venue controversy. After concerns emerged that Atlanta would have to host Finals games at the 3,500-seat Gateway Center Arena, the Atlanta Hawks stepped in to make State Farm Arena available for Games 3 and 4, giving the Dream an opportunity to play in front of approximately 17,000 fans. The Fumble breaks down the arena controversy, why the original scheduling decision sparked criticism, and what the Hawks' involvement means for the relationship between the NBA and WNBA. The hosts also react to a controversial congratulatory graphic featuring Hawks players that some felt took attention away from the Dream's accomplishment. Plus, Angel Reese's first season in Atlanta has become a major storyline. After leaving the Chicago Sky, Reese has helped lead the Dream to the WNBA Finals while earning Defensive Player of the Year honors. The hosts discuss how Atlanta has embraced Reese, what her championship run means for her growing legacy, and whether her success raises new questions about Chicago's organization. The conversation also explores a potential NBA vs. WNBA crossover competition and why the growth of women's basketball deserves bigger stages and stronger support from NBA franchises.
