Walking Chicago Loop: LaSalle, Michigan, Etc., September 2024

An early autumn afternoon in late September, I walked downtown Chicago, or specifically the Loop. Trees were still green and flowers in bloom, and the temperature was around lower 70s. My walk covered six streets: Washington Street, LaSalle Street, Adams Street, State Street, Ida B. Wells Drive and Michigan Avenue. My walking route was characterized by skyscrapers, old and new. Many office workers were on their way home, especially on LaSalle Street. On Michigan Avenue, however, tourists seemed to be the majority. I’m not sure how much the views of Chicago Loop seen along my walking route express the entirety of its beauty, but they can definitely provide a glimpse of how vibrant, grand, and elegant it is.
