The 550 Km border that Punjab shares with Pakistan is a region most sought after by drug smugglers to smuggle heroin to India from Pakistan. Narcotic drugs manufactured in Afghanistan find their way across Pakistan and dispatched to India via the borders by smugglers. The BSF at the fenced border has to constantly monitor the region and employ various technologies for surveillance and nabbing smugglers. But yet these desperate mafia find various methods to sneak large quantities of narcotics into India. In this special report, we investigate upon the various tactics employed by the criminals in getting their merchandise across the border and how the BSF tackles the menace.
