The Sikhiri Cottages is nestled midst the tall trees and Bamboo plants besides the Manas National Park Baksa, Assam. The name of Sikhiri is derived from a Bodo word meaning "Butterfly 🦋 ', but I was impressed by the fact that this Resort spread on about 3 acres of property has made a man made jungle with tall trees and Bamboo plants. Over 100 varieties of Bamboos add to the charm for Naturalists and environmentalists to feast on them. The Resort boasts of the only swimming pool for it's visitors and guests. Situated beside the Manas National Park, around 2kms from the Main entrance on the eastern boundary, with all weather approach road. The Management has maintained it's natural beauty avoiding any major modern building but using eco friendly materials to beautify the Resort and other amenities. Modern amenities include outdoor dining, Internet service, western toilets and other services. Tourists can take their help for sightings by elephant, gypsy safari and cycling in Manas and around the area.
