The Gardner Museum heist took 81 minutes. At 1:24 a.m. on 18 March 1990, two men dressed as police officers were buzzed into the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum in Boston, and left with 13 works the FBI later valued at around $500 million. None has been found. Case 08 rebuilds the night minute by minute from the motion-detector record: the rule the guard broke, the panic button he stepped away from, the Dutch Room where a Rembrandt was cut from its frame, Vermeer's The Concert, the Blue Room where no footsteps were logged, and why the empty frames still hang on the walls. The museum still offers a $10 million reward.
