🚨Ghana's housing sector could be heading for a major transformation as President John Dramani Mahama pushes to revive the long-abandoned Saglemi Housing Project.
During an inspection of the project, President Mahama said construction is expected to accelerate significantly, with the developer targeting:
🏠 700 housing units by March next year
🏠 1,500 units by December next year
The President also encouraged Ghanaians to register as soon as the official sales portal opens, warning that demand for the completed homes is expected to be high.
“I want to encourage Ghanaians to register as soon as the sales portal opens because these houses will be in high demand.”
Meanwhile, President Mahama has also launched the Green City Project at Dedesua in Kumasi, under the State Housing Company Limited.
The ambitious project is expected to feature more than 1,000 properties across 200 acres of land, adding another major housing development to Ghana's infrastructure agenda.

Former Works and Housing Minister Kojo Oppong Nkrumah has also commented on the Saglemi development, saying the government's optimism over completing the project highlights the importance of private-sector participation in government projects.
Meanwhile, Ahmed Ibrahim has called for Ghana to change its approach to housing delivery, as the country continues to grapple with its housing deficit.
💬 Do you believe Saglemi can finally be completed, and will these houses actually be affordable for ordinary Ghanaians?
