Nestled in the Woods

AI Gen Another restful night Followed by another silent morning broken by the sound of a coffee maker The slow inhale of the morning air The Sun hasn't shown its face Still hiding behind distant peaks In this silence I found peace No rushing out the door to catch a train to a place I dread going to Instead I get to marvel at the morning dew Take it all in Let the silence wash away all the cracking city streets traded away for dirt roads and a gravel drive To a house nestled in the woods Another day of fixing this house replacing rotting framework Removing decayed siding fixing up the cracked foundation Fixing what others tried to change A farm house is what this is Not some Victorian fantasy This old home has history Restoring it takes some work But it's worth every cut and scrape Returning it back to its former glory Take it all in Let the silence wash away all the cracking city streets traded away for dirt roads and a gravel drive To a house nestled in the woods Oh the stories it could tell A hundred years plus of memories engrained in every floorboard every creek of these old stairs Take it all in Let the silence wash away all the cracking city streets traded away for dirt roads and a gravel drive To a house nestled in the woods
