On July 30, 2005, just 21 days after signing the Comprehensive Peace Agreement, Dr. John Garang De Mabior died in a helicopter crash. He was the leader of the SPLA, First Vice President of Sudan, and the man most South Sudanese believed would lead the country to independence. This is not about rumors. This is about facts, timeline, and why his death still shapes South Sudan today. If this helped you understand our history better, please like, comment, and subscribe for more stories about South Sudan and Africa. #SouthSudan #JohnGarang #AfricanHistory COMMENT: What do you think South Sudan would look like today if Dr. Garang was still alive? --- CREDITS & SOURCES: News footage and photos used under Fair Use for commentary, news reporting, and education.
