This description below was the facebook invitation to participate in the flashmob you see here! Despite freezing weather and crazy wind, nearly 400 people showed up to "show out"! We couldn't be prouder of you Muncie! We came together, people of all ages, backgrounds and talents to celebrate Muncie's 150th Birthday. We are submitting this video to The Ellen Show in response to the"Give Me Five" dance challenge put forth by Michelle Obama earlier in the year on the show. How could you not LOVE this! "Have you ever thought, “I want to be a part of a Community event, but I just don’t know how to get involved?” Well DWNTWN fans, this is YOUR chance!
On October 1st at 8:30pm during ArtsWalk, Downtown Development will set in motion a spectacular lighted interactive sculptural display.
This project was funded by a grant to Muncie Downtown Development Partnership by Ball Brothers Foundation and The Shafer Foundation. It was designed by PROJECTiONE and BSU’s Institute for Digital Intermedia Arts. The launch of this one of a kind public attraction will be the cornerstone of our celebration of Muncie’s 150th Birthday. This event is for all ages and YOU can be a part of this spectacular Sesquicentennial finale.
So here is the plan: FLASH MOB!
We are recruiting as many people as possible, of all ages, to be a part of a Flash Mob! We will dance to Bruno Mars “Uptown Funk”. The Youtube links below. You don’t have to have ANY dance experience to learn these moves!

We will hit the ground at the conclusion of Jennie Devoe’s set at Canan Commons @ 8:30.
We will have one rehearsal on September 30th @ 7:30pm. One hour max. The rehearsal is not mandatory, but we would like to get an idea of how many bodies we will be working with that night.
SO That Is It!
If you have ever wanted to be a part of something BIG, flashy and fabulous in your community, this is your chance! Get a group together or learn it on your own. Invite coworkers, friends, neighbors, church groups, and organizations to learn it together! This is a great team building exercise and will be a blast when we put all of our energy in one place!"
