Massive Earthworks at Watchman Asuntene Stream on the Sunyani Outer Ring Road 4K

At Watchman on the Sunyani Outer Ring Road, major earthworks are underway around the Asuntene Stream crossing. The stream passes through a low-lying section where three parallel culvert lines have been installed within a box-shaped concrete structure. The culvert works are already about 98% complete. Because some of the surrounding ground is soft and unsuitable for the road foundation, two excavators are removing the weak material while trucks bring in gravel for replacement and filling. A dozer spreads the material, while boom compactors compact each layer before the next layer is placed. This process will continue until the low-lying area is raised to the required road level and the culvert is fully covered. The Sunyani Outer Ring Road is a 34-kilometre Big Push project being constructed by Fufuo Company. The road will provide an important bypass around Sunyani, allowing traffic travelling towards Kumasi and Techiman to avoid the central Sunyani business district. In this episode, we document the ongoing drainage, excavation, filling and compaction works at the Asuntene Stream section at Watchman.
