The japanese already had Barracks + Archery Range and began upgrades, taking early tempo. *06:00–12:00:* You didn’t contest relics or holy sites as japanese priests gathered several from ~09:00 onward. Wood kept banking (540–1200) with slow unit scaling. You hit Castle at 10:00 but delayed dynasty until 16:00, missing chinese mid-game bonuses. With no siege answer, `bannermen_siege` started dominating. *Mid (12:00–18:00):* Your army leaned crossbow-heavy with only 7 Spearmen at 17:00, letting mounted samurai dive your backline. The 2nd Town Center at 13:00 diluted production while the opponent snowballed relic gold. *18:00–24:00:* Raid defense collapsed—gold crashed at 19:00, −33 villagers by 24:00. Still no siege units, so `bannermen_siege` and monks traded efficiently. *Late (24:00+):* You floated 4k–6k wood and large gold while producing piecemeal, with no clear pivot—no Imperial, siege mass, or strong frontline. The new TC at 26:00 under raids didn’t stabilize, ending with 6k+ unspent wood. How to improve *Early (0:00–6:00):* Spend early wood into two production buildings by ~5:30. Keep units flowing. If passive, consider Professional Scouts (3–5 Scouts). Grab Wheelbarrow early for eco scaling. *06:00–12:00:* Deny relics and holy sites using 2–4 Horsemen. Convert wood into production (2–3 Ranges/Barracks) and early Castle siege (1–2 Springalds or Nest of Bees). After reaching Castle, unlock dynasty immediately for bonuses. Begin farm transition near granaries—target 40–50 farmers across 2–3 clusters. *Mid (12:00–18:00):* Maintain a Spearman screen (1:1 or 2:1 vs. crossbows) and mix Palace Guards to punish cavalry. If the enemy scales greedily on relics, push with upgrades and siege instead of adding Town Centers. *18:00–24:00:* Defend eco—move miners, wall critical points, and build outposts. If gold collapses, shift to Spearmen and protect ranged units. Add 1–2 siege (Nest of Bees vs. infantry; Springalds vs. siege) and position them behind your front. *Late (24:00+):* Convert banks into a clear plan—either: a) add production and siege to push, b) stabilize farms and hit a timing, or c) go Imperial for upgrades. Avoid new Town Centers under raids; defend first, then expand. Use Officials to boost granary farm output. How better players handle it *Early:* Spend wood fast on production or Scouts; grab Wheelbarrow early for momentum. *06:00–12:00:* Deny relics early with Horsemen, click Castle → dynasty quickly, and add early siege to counter `bannermen_siege`. *Mid:* Keep a balanced crossbow/spear core and punish greedy relic scaling with a timing push. *18:00–24:00:* Fortify gold, add 1–2 siege pieces, and stabilize eco around 2–3 granaries. *Late:* No massive floats—convert resources into a win condition: remax and push map control or tech Imperial for power spikes. #strategy #japanese #chinese #aoe #aoe4 #ageofempires #rts #gaming #twitch #attack #aggression #fight #battle #samurai #monk
