Boond Birah Ji Bahar | Yusuf Faqeer | Monsoon Melodies by Lahooti

Yusuf Faqeer, the Muslim faqeer and resident singer of Ramapir Mandir in Kasbo, the mandir of peacocks, performs “Boond Birah Ji Bahar” (بوند برهه جي بهار) at Monsoon Melodies. The poetry comes from Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai’s Sur Sarang, where rain, longing and the monsoon become inseparable. The song has travelled across generations through voices including Bhagat Kanwar Ram, Ustad Muhammad Jumman, Abida Parveen and Deeba Sehar.
