I’ve Lived in Switzerland for Almost 9 Years… and Then This Happened 🇨🇭

My mother-in-law came to visit us in Switzerland for about a week, and during one of the days she was here, we took a little trip to Appenzell 🇨🇭 My husband used to work there years ago, while I had actually never visited before. So with only one full day available for the three of us, we thought Appenzell would be a perfect little day trip. We drove there, had lunch at a place where my husband used to work, walked around the small town, explored some shops, had dessert - and then something completely unexpected happened. After leaving the restaurant, we happened to see a traditional Swiss cow procession going through the village 🐄🇨🇭 I had seen videos of this tradition after I moved to Switzerland and always thought it would be nice to experience it in person. After almost nine years of living here, I got to experience it myself. And somehow, that little moment made me think about how quickly we get used to the life we once dreamed about. We achieve things, they become normal, and then we immediately start looking towards the next goal. So this vlog became more than just a day in Appenzell.
