2026 BYD FCB Formula S First Look: 900km Range, Magic Suspension, & More! The BYD Fang Cheng Bao Formula S is a high-performance electric liftback sedan designed to combine sporty styling, long-distance range, and extremely fast charging. Launched in China from 189,900 yuan (around $28,000), the Formula S is also available in a Formula S GT shooting brake body style. The sedan measures 5,060 mm long, 1,967 mm wide, and 1,483 mm tall, with a 2,960 mm wheelbase and an aerodynamic drag coefficient of just 0.22. The Formula S offers three main electric powertrain configurations. The entry-level rear-wheel-drive version uses a 76.744 kWh battery and produces 245 kW (329 hp) for a claimed 730 km CLTC range. The long-range RWD model upgrades to a 92.093 kWh battery and a 300 kW (402 hp) motor, extending its range to an impressive 900 km CLTC. Meanwhile, the dual-motor AWD version delivers 490 kW (657 hp) and achieves up to 750 km of CLTC range, giving the Formula S strong performance alongside its long-distance capability. One of the Formula S's biggest highlights is its ultra-fast flash charging technology using BYD's second-generation Blade Battery. The system can charge from 10% to 70% in only five minutes and reach 97% in approximately nine minutes under compatible conditions. Chassis technology includes several suspension choices, ranging from DiSus-C electronically controlled damping and DiSus-A air suspension to the newly introduced DiSus-M magnetorheological suspension, allowing the Formula S to balance high-speed handling with everyday comfort.
