The Rise and Fall of America’s Most Famous Desert Paradise: Sedona, Arizona
Off a dirt road on the edge of Sedona, Arizona, there's a small cemetery with a grave that almost nobody visits. It belongs to the woman this entire town is named after. A few miles away, three million tourists a year crawl through traffic to photograph the same glowing red rocks she once looked at from her front porch. Homes here now sell for more than a million dollars, and nearly one in five of them has nobody living inside. Cowboys, painters, and psychics all came here chasing paradise. So how did paradise end up with its own workers sleeping in their cars?
