Deploying Spring Boot applications on Istio

In this webinar, Eitan Suez explores and demonstrates deploying and running Spring Boot microservices on top of Istio. Prior to the advent of Service Mesh, the predominant way in which Enterprise Java developers built cloud-native applications was with the aid of the Spring Framework's "Spring Cloud" libraries. Istio presents an advancement in platform technology that supports running cloud-native applications in a way that is orthogonal (independent from) the disparate microservices that development teams develop, maintain, and deploy. Eitan will use the venerable Spring "Pet Clinic" sample application and will demonstrate how to configure various facets of a cloud-native app, including ingress, routing, security, resilience, and observability, all without resorting to using Spring Cloud libraries.
