Scotland has been my escape for years. Somewhere I've rushed back to whenever I've had the chance. But this time, something feels different. I head into the Galloway hills, walking around Loch Trool and through the forests around Clatteringshaws, with plenty of time to think about why a place I know and love suddenly doesn't feel quite the same. Along the way there's Scottish history, stories from my Army days, a fair bit of rain, and some thoughts about life, change and what comes next. Maybe Scotland hasn't changed.
