ॐ ऐं ह्रीं क्लीं चामुण्डायै विच्चे Om Aim Hreem Kleem Chamundayai Vichche नवरात्रि का सबसे पवित्र मंत्र — नवार्ण मंत्र। The Navarna Mantra — the central mantra of Navratri. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ नवार्ण का अर्थ "नवार्ण" = नव (नौ) + अर्ण (अक्षर)। "ॐ" के बाद इस मंत्र में ठीक नौ अक्षर हैं — ऐं, ह्रीं, क्लीं, चा, मुं, डा, यै, वि, च्चे। नौ अक्षर, नौ रातें, माँ के नौ रूप। WHY "NAVARNA" Nava means nine, arna means syllable. After Om, the mantra has exactly nine syllables — Aim, Hreem, Kleem, Cha, Mun, Da, Yai, Vi, Chche. Nine syllables, nine nights, nine forms of the Mother. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ मंत्र का अर्थ ॐ — आदि ध्वनि, समस्त सृष्टि का मूल। ऐं — महासरस्वती का बीज: ज्ञान और वाणी। ह्रीं — महालक्ष्मी का बीज: ऐश्वर्य और दिव्य शक्ति। क्लीं — महाकाली का बीज: शक्ति और साहस। चामुण्डायै — माँ चामुण्डा को, जिन्होंने चण्ड और मुण्ड का संहार किया। विच्चे — परंपरा में इसे अज्ञान और बंधन से मुक्ति की प्रार्थना माना जाता है। भावार्थ: हे माँ चामुण्डा, जो महासरस्वती, महालक्ष्मी और महाकाली — तीनों रूपों में एक हैं, हम आपको नमन करते हैं। हमें अज्ञान के बंधन से मुक्त करें। MEANING OF THE MANTRA Om — the primordial sound, the source of all creation. Aim — seed syllable of Mahasaraswati: knowledge and speech. Hreem — seed syllable of Mahalakshmi: abundance and divine power. Kleem — seed syllable of Mahakali: strength and courage. Chamundayai — to Mother Chamunda, who destroyed the demons Chanda and Munda. Vichche — traditionally understood as a prayer for release from ignorance and bondage. In essence: O Mother Chamunda, you who are Mahasaraswati, Mahalakshmi and Mahakali in one — we bow to you. Free us from the bonds of ignorance. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ महत्व यह मंत्र देवी महात्म्य (दुर्गा सप्तशती) की परंपरा से जुड़ा है, जो मार्कण्डेय पुराण का अंश है। सप्तशती पाठ से पहले और बाद में नवार्ण मंत्र का जाप किया जाता है। इसके तीन बीज अक्षर सप्तशती के तीनों चरित्रों — महाकाली, महालक्ष्मी और महासरस्वती — का स्मरण कराते हैं। इसलिए इसे सम्पूर्ण सप्तशती का सार माना जाता है। नवरात्रि के नौ दिनों में इसका जाप विशेष रूप से किया जाता है। IMPORTANCE This mantra belongs to the tradition of the Devi Mahatmya (Durga Saptashati), part of the Markandeya Purana. It is recited before and after the Saptashati path, and its three seed syllables recall the three sections of that text — honouring Mahakali, Mahalakshmi and Mahasaraswati. For this reason it is regarded as the essence of the entire Saptashati. It is chanted with special devotion during the nine days of Navratri.
