Why should you get your MLIS with LSU School of Information Studies?
If you’re like most people, having to sift through a bunch of words on a website can be mentally exhausting. If you’re more of a visual learner or someone who needs more of a human explanation, this video is for you!
Watch our very own Director, Dr. Edward Benoit, as he presents for the East Baton Rouge Parish Library April 2026 Career Development Day. While he goes into information on our degrees, how to apply, and all the roads this degree could take you on, he also breaks down what the different aspects of your degree actually mean, clears up confusion on the differences between SIS Online and LSU Online, and much more. Following his presentation is a Q&A from potential students.
If you’re interested in a GA position with us and live in the Baton Rouge area, you can find contact information on our website at the link below:

If you’d like access to the slides that Dr. Benoit used in his presentation to follow along, you can access them through the link below:

Correction to the information given in the video:
It was stated in the video that probational admission is a gpa of 3.00 - 2.5. Probational admission is actually a gpa of 2.999 - 2.75. Anything below a 2.75 may not qualify for admission. Additionally, you must earn a 3.00 in first 9 hours, not 6.
