RC Solar Gliders based on Q12

As a winter-project for the Leidsche Luchtvaart Club, we decided to build or own RC gliders, powered by the sun. We used the design of the Horejsi-Q12 lightweight glider for our basis, with slightly more span and chord to fit 16 flexible solar cells. The solar power converter is designed by ourselves, specifically for the project. The energy is stored in a small Lipo/LiIon battery for buffering. The wings are built from simple foam, fiber and epoxy. Twelve RC-friends built the same wings and made their own solar plane. In the next fragments you will see two of the planes.
