On 10th to 14th July, Locomotive Services' Chairman's Train ran from Euston to Fortwilliam with side trips along the Settle Carlisle and West Highland Extension lines. A Whole variety of heritage diesel and steam locos and a Pacer were used! 2 class 20s, 3 class 37s, a Class 50, the Class 89, a class 142 plus a rebuilt Bullied light pacific! Additionally a class 90 was used with the southern section to and from Euston.
Not all went as planned, it seems, with Class 121 'bubble car' Flora being unable to make the trip. One of the green class 20s also failed at Upperby depot and 37401 substituted.
The highlight though for many was the use of 89001 Avocet on the final leg of the train from Carlisle to Euston. The first time it has run alone since restoration and with a surprise driver having yet another 'last run'.
The times shown on clips are for guidance only and shouldn't be taken as definitive.
