From humble beginnings coaching high school football and teaching geometry, to building explosive offenses at Incarnate Word and Texas State, and now leading a high-powered attack in Lubbock, this conversation dives deep into the evolution of a modern offensive system and the mindset behind it. We talk about growing up as a coach’s kid, developing a quarterback-first philosophy, and how trust and freedom shape elite quarterback play. Matt breaks down how his offense adapts to personnel, the collaborative process behind building a system, and what it takes to transition that identity across multiple levels of college football. Lindsey Scott also shares why playing in this system changed his perspective on the position — and ultimately led him into coaching.
