The Saty Niketan PG tragedy has raised serious questions about the safety and living conditions of students staying in PGs and rented rooms across Delhi. The concern is not limited to Saty Niketan. Around North Campus, Nehru Vihar, Gandhi Vihar, Gopalpur and Mukherjee Nagar, thousands of students live in small rooms and PG accommodations. In many cases, students struggle with limited space, poor ventilation and inadequate natural light, simply because affordable housing options are limited.
