Le Grand Tour d' Europe 2024 (DAY 22) - BERLIN - Leipzig via POLAND Sped up video recorded on a windscreen mounted GoPro. The trip was a 52 day driving tour of northern Europe taking in 17 Countries. Almost the entire route avoiding motorways. Day 22 - Departing our hotel after 5 nights and 4 wonderful full days in Berlin, we took a route out of the city that included a drive through Potsdamer Platz and along the East Side Gallery capturing a few more photos of the incredible art works along the former Berlin Wall. Then... just because it is our want to do daft stuff, and, it seemed 'quite close', we decided to add country number 7 on to our list for this trip by taking a route due east from Berlin and cross the border into Poland. It was only a brief drive through, making sure to be fed and watered to make it count. Then we were back into Germany heading south west for Leipzig. (There may be more 'daftness' in tomorrow's video). Leipzig, wow, I wasn't expecting this. I hadn't really known much about Leipzig before this trip. Once we had arrived at our perfectly located hotel (just a 5 minute st(roll) from the city centre), we set off out to explore and find food. To our HUGE surprise there appeared to be music coming from the city centre and as we got closer to the absolutely stunning Marktplatz flanked by the beautiful Rathaus (town hall) there was a huge outdoor stage set up with hundreds of people gathered listening to live music. Not just any music but glorious music of the composer Bach. This was the completely unexpected bonus of the entire trip, 'Bachfest'! What an ending to this day.
