My BMW R nineT May Have Spoiled Me for Other Motorcycles

I've owned a whole bunch of motorcycles in just over two years. It's true. But this 2015 BMW R nineT is different — and I wanna tell you why. About three weeks ago my friend Mark sent me a photo from a ride, and it turned out it was of his R nineT — one of my dream bikes I'd never actually ridden. I took my Moto Guzzi V85TT down to Bend, we swapped for an hour, and the second I thumbed the starter on the R nineT I knew. A kidney later, I rode it home. This bike has almost nothing on it. ABS and that's it — no traction control, no cruise, no fuel gauge, tubed tires, no ride modes. That's the whole point. There's barely anything on here that can fail, the boxer engine will outlive me, and the build quality is something I've never felt on a motorcycle — Swiss-watch, Hasselblad territory. People say BMWs have no soul. This one does. Thanks to Mark. And to LadyBug, for going along for the ride... Please note: For some bizarre reason I said I met my friend in Bend "for a drink." I don't drink, and my friend had an iced tea or something. Not sure why I said it like that (old habits die hard I guess), but I thought I'd note it because I definitely don't condone riding and drinking. Bad combo! Unless it's iced tea.
