The Earthquake Engineering Research Institute (EERI) is the leading non-profit membership organization that connects multidisciplinary professionals dedicated to advancing earthquake resilience in the United States and globally. Explore the many benefits of an EERI membership at eeri.org/join. This is the intro on the guide “Constructing low-rise confined masonry buildings”. Jorge Moreno, post-Graduate Structural Intern at EERI, will walk you through this resource. This guide has been prepared by Tom Schacher and Tim Hart, who are both members of EERI’s Confined Masonry Network, with the support of experts in confined masonry around the world. These participants played an important role as contributors and reviewers. This handbook is targeted to a broad audience, building technicians, construction managers, architects, students of architecture and civil engineering, or those following practical training on confined masonry building sites. The language used throughout the guide is simple and it does not delve into complex technical engineering details. Download English and Spanish version: http://www.confinedmasonry.org/constr...
