Lone Cone Country | Norwood to Dolores Backcountry Drive

Experience a relaxing, no commentary POV drive through Lone Cone country as we travel from Norwood to Dolores, Colorado. Leaving CO Highway 145 on Road 44Z S, we pass through ranch land before entering scrub oak and western cedar country on our journey south toward Lone Cone Peak. As Road 44Z S becomes Road 31, the landscape shifts between ponderosa pine, aspen groves, scrub oak, western cedars, and sagebrush. We travel through the transition from the San Juan Mountains toward the high plains valleys and canyon country of western Colorado. After passing Disappointment Road, we reach H Road and join the TransAmerica Trail before continuing toward Dolores, where the journey concludes at CO Highway 145.
