Baby listeners, this week we're comparing Peter Heller's The Dog Stars with Ridley Scott's film adaptation, and somehow a story about the end of civilization left us mostly fighting for our lives against the pacing. We're talking Jacob Elordi's one-note grief, Josh Brolin being way too lovable to be Bangley, why Jasper is the actual star of this entire thing, and the exact moment Grand Junction turns into Alien with cannibals. Featuring hosts Tim Haynes, Donna Haynes, Rebekah Edwards, and T. Josiah Haynes. 00:00:00 — Intro, Spoiler/Content Warnings, and Fun Facts 00:05:12 — Plot Summaries 00:06:21— Setting Book vs. Film Differences 00:10:58 — Character Book vs. Film Differences 00:28:51— Plot/Timeline Book vs. Film Differences 01:06:10 — Final Verdicts 01:08:26 — Outro and Stinger This podcast episode includes a family of four hosts reviewing the differences between Annihilation (the book) and Annihilation (the film).
