Vanir T DJ Set – Live from Langøyene, Oslo, Norway (Filter House / French House / Nu Disco) Follow me on Instagram: @vanirtmusic After some bad years, I entered the summer of 2026 finally feeling better, and yet again alive. And what better way to celebrate than with some timeless filter house, french house, and nu disco tracks? Instead of just making another mixtape in my "studio", I decided to record and publish my first live recording. This is just the first of several live DJ set recordings I plan to make, where the following ones will be in different genres and styles, showing all the music that I really love to listen to, play, and make – music that truly enriches my life. I had never done this before, and being a bit too optimistic as always, I underestimated the amount of work it would take to make this video. I am thankful to Mickael and Dao who helped me bring the equipment to Langøyene, and who helped me film. Editing, color grading, b-roll footage etc. were done by myself and took about a month of work because I'm a noob at film and learned as I went. However, the music is the most important. Oslo is beautiful in the summer, with several nice beaches and beautiful nature easily accessible, so I figured it would be fitting to showcase that using this style of music. Langøyene is a small island in the inner Oslofjord, just a short ferry ride from central Oslo. Its name, meaning "the long islands", tells its story: it was originally two separate islands, Northern and Southern Langøy, divided by a narrow strait. From 1904 to 1949, that strait served as Oslo's landfill, gradually filling the gap between the two islands until they became one. Today, all traces of that history have been buried beneath grass and sand. What remains is one of Oslo's most popular summer destinations, known for its large sandy beach and calm fjord waters. Still being somewhat tired after my previous years, technical issues, no actual crowd, feeling weird and shy about being filmed, and strong light making it impossible to see anything on the DJ equipment all contributed to making me look rather serious despite the mostly cheerful and energetic music. But trust me, I'm dancing on the inside! I feel like several of these vocal tracks echo parts of my story and things that have been said by me or to me during my last turbulent years, which was among the reasons for choosing them.
