Starting Over in Black Desert: The Journey to Softcap (Ep. 1)

Black Desert Online: starting a fresh EU-server Tamer from scratch, chasing softcap gear score through grinding and boss RNG from Dec 29, 2018 to Jan 5, 2019. This is Episode 1 of a fresh-start challenge series on Black Desert Online's EU servers, tracking a week of progress on a brand-new Tamer account that lost its Olvia server access after sitting idle too long. The episode covers early-game grinding routes through Mask Owl Forest, Helms, and Nagas, plus market bidding wins on boss gear including Bheg's Gloves after pulling two Kzarka boss boxes during the New Year's event. It also breaks down decisions on pets, extra weight, node investment in Heidel, and guild buffs from a casual guild, ending the week near 400 gear score with all boss weapons secured. ⏱️ Timestamps 0:00 Intro & series overview 0:14 Account backstory: returner rewards, no Olvia access 1:12 Anders' BDO background & current main-account gear 1:50 Why EU servers 2:10 Fresh account starts Dec 29, picks Tamer over meta classes 2:56 Early gearing: full Grunil & black stone enhancing 3:39 Leveling route, relic-keeping & artisan memory strategy 5:07 First World Boss Kzarka pull & first boss box 6:00 New Year's boss box quest line & first market bid win 7:10 Helms grind, AP/DP checkpoint, and pet/weight purchases 8:11 Leveling at Helms to 57 8:36 Awakening unlock & Bheg's Gloves bid win 9:00 Second Kzarka box & gear storage strategy 9:54 Nagas grinding begins 10:23 Progress check: halfway through level 59 11:07 Travel-time challenges at Nagas 12:08 Nearing 400 gear score, all boss weapons secured 13:00 Node investment & life skill setup in Heidel 13:37 Week 1 recap & what's next 💬 Discord:   / discord   🅰️ Anders Memberships:    / @andersgalla   ✉️ Business inquiries: business@andersgalla.com 🎵 BGM Track: Evening Mood - Sum Wave Music provided by Epidemic Sounds. https://share.epidemicsound.com/d97gb5 (Referral Link) 🍄 Editing Tools & System Specs Adobe Audition CC DaVinci Resolve Studio 21 AMD 5800X3D NVIDIA RTX5070 64GB DDR4 RAM #BlackDesertOnline #FreshStart #MMORPG
