Okay so I need EVERYONE to stop what they are doing right now because Shooting Stars just broke my entire brain and I am NOT okay 😭💀 Like how is it possible that a show about a petty, insufferable celebrity and the ONE woman who sees through all his nonsense managed to destroy me this completely?? I came for the drama. I stayed because I accidentally fell in love with both of them and now I can't leave. If you've been sleeping on Shooting Stars Korean drama, first of all — shame on you, and second of all — you're actually so lucky because you get to experience it for the first time while I'm over here rewatching scenes at 2am like I have absolutely nothing going on in my life. Simultaneously. That's just what this show does to you. And then we get the BACKSTORY. The six-year-old incident. The article. The impotent headline. I SCREAMED. 😭😭 Like Hanbyeol accidentally publishes the most devastating article possible about Taesung, he storms into the agency absolutely furious, corners her, and tries to prove a point — only to get interrupted before things go completely off the rails. And since that day, this man has made it his personal mission to make her life a little bit harder every single chance he gets. Is it unhinged? Absolutely. Is it also somehow the most romantic origin story I've seen in a while? Unfortunately, yes. What really got me though — and this is the detail that wrecked me — is when Yusung casually drops the information that Taesung actually stopped Hanbyeol from getting fired after that whole incident. He protected her while simultaneously tormenting her. And she doesn't even know. I am going to need a moment. The little things in this drama are what really elevate it for me. The way Taesung shows up and sits in her chair just to be annoying. The way he watches her work from the recliner like he's doing her some kind of favor by existing in her space. The way he rejects a role because he doesn't like her facial expression — which is the most unhinged reason I've ever heard and also the funniest. And then the way he goes home, finds the script he rejected, reads it, and realizes it sounds like their story — and CALLS HER. He calls her. I'm fine. I'm totally fine.
