Right rein training 25th August 2026.

We have been struggling more with the right rein canter than the left. That's why all of this training session is on the right rein. Arnie is more spooky on this rein, so this session has given him the time to think about what he is seeing and hearing. During the session, I get closer to him to replicate the use of my inside leg to ask her to move his balance to the left. This seems to help him get a better balance in the canter making it more relaxed. The cooling down session is helping be more confident to be on the outside. After his spook I walk Infront of him cause he is still a little cautious. The long pause at the door is because he showed tension in his breathing and muscles. I waited and gave him time to relax his muscles. He was very well behaved today.
