As Paddy cultivation is witnessing a dip across the Kashmir valley and the region's dependence on imported crop continues to swell drastically, Mushk Budji, a local breed of rice has emerged as a hope for Kashmiri farmers.
Mushki Budji, a highly aromatic breed of rice is grown in the Sagam belt of Kokernag and in Beerwah Budgam. It is a highly expensive crop and more farmers in the Kokernag belt are taking to Mushk Budji farming.
