Maria by Blondie Music Video, Mountain Biking (MTB) CDT Pipestone Pass to Homestake Pass

The nine mile long section of the Continental Divide Trail (CDT) between Pipestone Pass and Homestake Pass has trail heads and ample parking at each pass. In June on the Saturday closest to the summer solstice, there is a trail run covering this section. Over the years, I’ve done it several times. When I still had a family in Bozeman and worked in Philipsburg, I commuted over the passes a couple times a month. It afforded a great opportunity to do some run training on the CDT. This video was taken Friday August 21 2026. It was a mild sunny day. It was the first time I ever mountain biked this section of the CDT. Last summer, I biked portions where the CDT is near the Idaho Montana border. That was before starting this YouTube channel and taking on the goal of running the Bridger Ridge Run. The song choice “Maria” by the band Blondie is a favorite of mine. Back in the late 1970’s and early 1980’s I enjoyed the Blondie’s music. The song Maria is from the late 1990’s when Blondie had a comeback. It is special and energizing to me because in the 1970’s I was in love with a Maria. The song reminds me of her.
